Domain Name Registration

If you have never registered a domain name before then you'll be surprised how easy it is! For most domain name registrars there is a simple and easy to use search that allows you to check if the domain name is available.

Once you have found the domain name that you're interested in  enter your details (or the details of your company) and complete payment. Most companies require registration before allowing you to purchase domain names. This is so that you can come back later and manage your domain.

You can purchase your own domain name using the search below as an unmanaged domain, and you are completely responsible for it. MyDigitalMedia do offer a managed domain name service, where we take responsibility for your domain name for you.

Once you have registered your domain name, you will need to point it your webspace. This can normally be done via web forwarding or by modifying the DNS and Nameserver settings. Although web forwarding is the easiest to implement it is also the most unprofessional as normally the web address changes as the website is redirected.

If your domain name is purchased as part of a hosting package, and the managed domain option is selected then MyDigitalMedia will direct your domain name to your webspace for you so you can get to work with your new website as soon as possible.
